Emily & Omri at Wave Hill

I woke up today to such a cold and dreary day, so I was so glad when I found Emily and Omri's sunny wedding photos! Sunny yellow bridesmaid dresses, crisp blue accents, and the lovely views of Wave Hill were enough to make me feel warm and fuzzy!

The wonderfully lush backdrop of Wave Hill gave this June wedding picture perfect photos!

Hope that also helped brighten up your day!

Perrie & Adam at The Bowery Hotel

Perrie and Adam had a wedding date set for late August, but Hurricane Irene had other plans. A day before the wedding, they choose to re-schedule their event to keep friends and family out of harms way in case the storm was as bad as predicted. So, we re-scheduled to the only date the Bowery still had left that year!  Perrie and Adam got an early honeymoon and gorgeous weather on their "new" wedding day!

We were in LOVE with Perrie's dress! The nice weather allowed for wedding portraits on their Bowery Hotel suite's terrace.

So happy to share these amazing photos!

Julie & Jason's TriBeCa Wedding!

Julie absolutely knew what she wanted from the first time we met. She wanted a wedding that was a not your traditional affair, but rather a a joining of Julie’s southern family and Jason’s New York relatives. She succeeded in every way!  Lovers of New York City, the couple wanted their wedding to be local, and in a place that meant something to them, but yet extended the feeling of Southern hospitality and comfort.  They chose their favorite Tribeca neighborhood dinner spot, Michelin star rated Marc Forgione, to host their wedding ceremony and cocktail style reception.

The Bride got ready at the neighboring Greenwich Hotel, which is a fabulous downtown Manhattan hotel for prepping & first look shots.

In line with the casual feel that they hoped to achieve, the ceremony simply had the officiant gather in the center of the room with the couple, as guests watched from a circle that they formed around them. Live string musicians added the only formality and filled the space with wonderful ceremony music! After the ceremony, guests were treated to a meal that was out of this world.

Eileen & Teddy at The Alder Manor

We are always excited to get the chance to work outside of New York City. It is such a wonderful change of pace! So when we met Eileen and Teddy, we were beyond excited to work with them on their event at the Alder Manor! This wonderful venue is truly one of a kind. A 1912  Italian Renaissance Revival-style home transports you a whole lot further than Yonkers!  Wonderfully semi-restored, the grand details of the home live side by side with peeling paint and the wear and tear that gives this venue its character and charm. The happy couple threw themselves into the details to make this space their own. Take a look at the wonderful photos by Cappy Hotchkiss below!

Devin & David at Studio 450

Before the rooftop ceremony we had fans & parasols on hand to keep the heat at bay, and as the ceremony ended Devin gently reminded her guests that she wasn't walking down the aisle without their petal toss!

Interspersed among Verde's stunning and understated centerpieces were custom Mad Libs that guests used to impart advice to the newlyweds. Betsy from Nine Cakes created a simple and fun cake that highlighted the couples' personalized topper.

DJ Duane Harriott moved the room from Devin & David's entrance to Busta Rhymes, through the parent dances, straight to a full-on dance party. I wish I had a shot of my favorite moment, when the crowd got their Wobble on!

Congrats to Devin & David!

Scott and John at Gary's Loft

We loved Scott and John from the first moment they walked through our doors. Warm and charming, their love for each other was infectious! Together for over a decade, this lovely couple was ecstatic to be making their union legal. Working with this couple was one of those experiences that remind me (and I think, all of us involved) of why we do what we do. Although their wedding day was about the two of them, they touched all our lives. Wishing the happy couple a life of happiness!!

After the ceremony, guests were treated to joyous speeches by friends and family AND amazing food by Great Performances! All of the food stations provided by GP were delicious, but I must admit that I was partial to the chicken and waffle station:) The incredible floral details were provided by Shawn Rabideau Events and Design.

Thank you to Scott and John for letting us share in their long awaited wedding day! Also, a big thank you to all of the wonderful vendors that made this day a joy for the happy couple!

Jennifer & Steven at The Bowery Hotel

We are in love with this Fall wedding at The Bowery Hotel!

Let us begin with the stunning invitation suite designed by Ceci New York. You can see about the inspiration and design process of this stunning invitation suite on Ceci Styles! The Bowery is always an amazing location for getting ready photos! This bridal suite gave the amazing photographer at Christian Oth Photography an amazing backdrop for "getting ready shots".

Stunning florals by Rountree Flowers gave the venue a hint of fall, with a LOT of romance. We simply loved the bride's bouquet with a simple pin giving it a bit of sparkle!

Now, the real show stopper here was the AMAZING cake by Bee's Knees Baking Co! Tired of the cupcake tree? Well, this might be the new wedding trend!

Kristen & Chris at The Bowery Hotel

Meet the calmest couple ever.  From the minute I met them, they were nothing but laid back, calm and collected…and very happy! They put a huge emphasis on being gracious hosts, making sure their guests were well taken care of at every turn.  Kristen and Chris kept the fireplaces roaring all night, the pool table open, the drinks flowing, and the dance floor packed!  As you can see from the photos, it was anything but a laid back wedding! Marcella & Jason at The Bowery Hotel

Marcella and Jason were beyond fantastic to work with.  They had amazing vision, an unlimited amount of patience and family arriving from what felt like every far corner of the earth!  Each element of the wedding meant something personal to the bride and groom.  They had their first meeting pictures at Madison Square Park, near their apartment, before arriving for their ceremony and reception at The Bowery Hotel.  On their sign in table, they displayed black and white  photos of friends and family members. They made fantastic entertainment choices: a Tabla duo to play traditional music during their ceremony, a quartet for cocktails, and then a total party-like-crazy 10 piece band for the reception and a DJ until 2 am!  If I haven’t been successful in truly setting the stage as to how much this day meant to this couple, just look at the photos, it’s all there! Congratulations Marcella and Jason!

Julia & Jim at Studio 450

We are in love with this wedding! Julia gave SMP a great description of their design ideas, which were brought to life by Hatch Creative Studios. After a quick trip to Crif Dogs with Dave Robbins, the couple braved the drizzles for some shots on the roof of Studio 450 before their unique, personal & beautiful ceremony downstairs.

The yellow & gray color palette really popped in the all-white venue, and the mix of real & paper flowers had all the guests doing double-takes.

Ali & Matt at The Bowery Hotel

Ali and Matt were married in the Hamptons the day prior to their big party at The Bowery Hotel. They wanted to host a full on, absolutely no-holds-barred extravaganza the next day, and they succeeded. Their reception was black tie (Ali wore the most amazing dress) and the guests were treated to a sit down meal followed by desserts, dancing and late night treats. The couple had biscuits from Peels delivered in take home bags, so the guests could grab them on the way out - the smell was outrageous!

The Knot & The Pop Up Chapel

This past Saturday we participated in a fantastic event: Pop Up Chapel with The Knot! What started as an idea among a group of friends celebrating marriage equality in NY has evolved into a full blown wedding extravaganza. 24 same-sex couples married  in two custom designed chapels at the Columbus Circle entrance to Central Park.

We were so lucky to be working alongside an awesome group of people on the main planning committee with the crew from Pop Up Chapel and The Knot. The folks over at Architizer ran the design competition for the chapels. The lucky 24 couples will be getting flowers from David Stark Design, cupcakes from CityCakes, dedicated photographers to capture their day and a bunch of other goodies as well.

Congratulations to all the couples, and many thanks to the Parks Department, the NYPD, the officiants & photographers who donated their time & efforts, and ALL the sponsors & volunteers - we definitely couldn't have done it without you all!
